What is Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that promotes the health and wellbeing of their patients.

Respiratory physiotherapists are responsible for the assessment and management of children with respiratory conditions who might require treatment.

The paediatric respiratory physiotherapy within ISCAN see babies, children and young people from birth to 19 years old in the community and 0-15 at Tameside children’s ward.

What do Paediatric Respiratory physiotherapists do?

Each intervention is individualised based on every child or young person’s needs when we will then create an individual treatment if required.

Paediatric respiratory physiotherapists work closely with not only the child and their parent but also other professionals, including Paediatric physiotherapists, Complex nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Consultant Paediatricians.
